Candid Portraiture
Portraiture—the art of representing the physical or psychological likeness of an individual.
From earliest times the portrait has been considered a means to immortality. Many cultures have attributed magical properties to the portrait: symbolization of the majesty or authority, substitution for a deceased individual's living presence or, in some primitive cultures, theft of the soul!
The principal portrait media are: drawing, painting, sculpture, and, as shown in this example, photography.
Boulderama
The City of Boulder is located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, northwest of Denver, Colorado. Directly to the west of Boulder are the picturesque Flatirons—steep, angular rock faces that protrude upwards into the sky.
This panorama of Boulder was inspired from a baseline photographic study of the Flatirons that I conducted in December 2006.
